On the 29th of October, I went to Vedder Mountain in Chilliwack.
It was a hard climb and a cold descent, much of it on a bed of needles. I went with Penny, and Terry Walker, and my Papa. We rode ten trails in total. Three up, and eight down. At the end of the ride, we met Sierra and her dogs to go for lunch. We went to Farmhouse Brewing for pizza. I ordered one with prawns (I had to share with my Papa), Penny ate a pepperoni pizza (She shared with me), Terry Walker had Hawaiian (he shared with me too), and Sierra ate something with a lot of arugula. The pizza was so good.
My favorite trail was Mango Mango (which I will talk about later in this article). Even though there were only three trails on the climb, it was unbelievably long. On Trailforks, if you look at Kerry’d Away (that is the third trail and I will also talk about this later on), it will take you about two minutes to scroll all along the lines. The three uphill trails are Notarizer, Sunnyside Up and Kerry’d Away. Notarizer is long, Sunnyside up is very long, and Kerry’d Away is extra extra extra, etc. long.

The Climb
The climb was steep and hard. I had a lot of fun. Notarizer has steep switchbacks. It’s the shortest of the three but probably, it is the steepest. The photo below is Penny and I talking about the wood feature, at the junction of Sunnyside Up (the trail we had just come up), Kerry’d Away (the trail we were riding next), and Dilemma (a downhill trail). I remember saying “I will never do that,” and Penny just shook her head.
I had to push a bit on Kerry’d Away, and stalled quite a few times. There were a lot of cool ladders. There was one ladder that was downhill at the start of it and then it went to a steep uphill. Another one (I didn’t ride it) was a hump. It was set diagonally on a log over a creek. The photo above is me riding through a cool rock formation that Penny had been raving about from the start of the ride.

Downhill
The first downhill trail was 2Cents. 2Cents is a smooth trail with some cool wood features. When I rode it, It felt like I was riding on pillows with some sticks sewn into it. Then, we rode down a gravel road to a trail called Skidder. Skidder is steeper than 2Cents, but they are similar. Skidder goes right into Terdferg. Terdferg is like a multiple of Skidder, just shorter. Then it’s a short ascent on ‘Up and Over Road’ (AKA TS81). TS81 is just a fire road like at Mt Fromme, but skinnier. From there, we went down New Mexico. NM is a chunkier trail than the others, but it’s still pretty flowy. That goes right into Electric Lettuce. EL has some fun little sections with little ladder bridges. That goes into Mango Mango, but EL just flows into it.
Mango Mango was my favourite trail at Vedder. It has great ladders, and I love ladders (not so much for the high ones). Two pictures below is a picture of me riding a ladder. You can only see to the corner, but there is another part. It’s my favourite ladder out of all of them. There was also a series of planks over mud, the highest and skinniest feature I have ever ridden. At the end of the trail, there is a mini chute. It was a steep roll but I did it with confidence. The chute shot us right in front of the entrance of Femur. Femur is a gravely trail. That trail ends at the parking lot. And then, WE WENT FOR PIZZA WITH SIERRA!

Conclusion
In conclusion, it was a great ride.
P.S. Thank you to the FVMBA!
P.P.S. In an old article, my Papa wrote about Emotional Support Jackets. He’s very right. In the caption of the photo above, you will find that it says that I’m wearing an ESJ. It’s brand new and I will write more about it soon.
