This is a wrap on Cumberlandworx. It’s Sunday night but I’m behind on everything so by the time this goes live it will be Monday sometime. Everyone is content, tired, and both happy and sad about being home, but we’re back in North Vancouver either way.
For Day 7 I woke up early and joined a group of dads for a pedal, led by my friend Andrew. He’s a North Vancouver transplant going on a half dozen years or so and he flies up and down his home trails. We managed to stay social and bust out the Sobo no Michi Climb, Above & Beyond, Lost Wood, Blockhead, Numbskulls, Gravity, and then a little meander back to base so I could grab a shower, a coffee, and pack.
The ride was mostly uneventful except that I managed to burp half the air from my rear tire in a corner. It’s a 27″ Schwalbe Rock Razor in their Super Trail casings with a CushCore Pro insert on a Flow rim, so nothing is suspect about the setup. I’ve also been on it for months sans issue. I guess I’m just shredding gnarly corners that much harder after a solid week of pedaling? Not a problem at all to ride it out, of course.
I think that Numbskulls remains my favourite trail in Cumberland. But then I haven’t ridden all the trails so clearly I need to get back there sooner rather than later to confirm. In the name of science of course.
